Major Objective:
To establish e-agriculture service in Tamil Nadu by linking all the Agricultural Extension Centres with JDAs, DDHs, COA, COH, KVKs, TNAU Research Centres, NGOs , Farmers Associations, agro industries and other stake holders
Methodology
- e-connectivity to 60 TNUA centres with broad band connectivity, multimedia and video conferencing facility & linking 385 blocks and 30 districts
- The Separate TNAU AGRITECH Portal to act as Hub center will be developed with well-structured facilities
- Location Specific and need based contents will be generated and loaded in the TNAU AGRITECH Portal
- TNAU AGRITECH Portal will give content to Agriculture Department Hub centres and Other Line Departments
Infrastructure for AECs
- Repairing of 162 Agricultural Extension Centres (77 Centres at a cost of Rs.181.50 lakhs under Part-II and balance AECs at a cost of Rs.100 lakhs under maintenance fund.
- 220 AECs are being provided with lavatory facilities at a cost of Rs.110 lakhs. (Part-II)
- All AECs are being provided with telephone connection at a cost of Rs.68.90 lakhs (Part-II)
- Provision of furniture to 219 AECs at a cost of Rs.74.46 lakhs. (Part-II)
- All AECs are provided with computers with net facility at a cost of Rs.437 lakhs. (Through Agrisnet and NADP)
