Role of TNAU in Implementation of ATMA :

• ATMA - State level Masters Training programme was organized at Tamil Nadu Agricultural University in collaboration with MANAGE, Hyderabad and trained more than 60 extension functionaries of line departments, TNAU scientists and KVK scientists for preparation of Strategic Research and Extension Plan (SREP) for the concerned districts and for facilitating further similar training programme on ATMA at district level.
• TNAU scientists have been facilitated the line department officials for preparation of SREP documents and other activities related to ATMA for the concerned districts.
• As contemplated in the scheme, the Strategic Research and Extension Plan (SREP) has been prepared jointly by the Extension Functionaries of Agriculture and Allied Departments, Farmers, NGOs etc., through PRA exercises in sample villages of the different Agro Ecological Situations in each of the nine districts.
• State Agricultural Management and Extension Training Institute (SAMETI) is also  established at Director of Extension Education, TNAU as registered society for organizing capacity building programmes for the extension functionaries of the state line departments.
• Masters Training Programme on Public Private Partnership have also been organized in collaboration with MANAGE, Hyderabad for the benefit of District ATMA implementing agencies.
• The number of capacity building programme is also proposed at SAMETI, TNAU   for the benefit of the ATMA stake holders.
