Schemes for the year 2008-2009
I. For Farmers
Eligibility of Farmers:
Central Silk Board Assisted Catalytic Development Programme Schemes
For availing scheme assistance,
a) The farmers have to plant high yielding mulberry varieties in minimum 1 acre.
b) The farmers have to rear bivoltine silkworm races.
c) Farmers who have own land, have an assured source of water, and experience in silkworm rearing.
d) Application in prescribed format to be submitted through departmental staff of the technical service centre, servicing in the concerned jurisdiction.
1) Mulberry saplings subsidy Rs. 1,500/acre
2) Installation of Drip irrigation system Subsidy
3) Construction of rearing shed
- Unit cost : Rs. 120000/-
- Subsidy : Rs. 60000/-
- Unit cost : Rs. 100000/-
- Subsidy : Rs. 50000/-
4) Procurement of improved rearing equipments
- Unit cost : Rs.10000/-
- Subsidy : Rs. 3000/-
5) Establishment of Chawkie rearing centres
- Unit cost : Rs. 5,00,000/-
- Total subsidy : Rs. 1,50,000/-
6) Supply of quality disinfectants(Hybrid silk worm) : 50% subsidy
II. For Establishment of Silk reeling Units
1) Cottage basin silk reeling Units
- 6 numbers : Rs. 1,22,500/-
- 10 numbers : Rs. 7,50,000/-
2) Hot air drier Construction : Rs 75,000/-
3) Automatic reeling unit construction: Rs. 1,00,00,000/-
4) Motarised Charka reeling unit
- Unit cost : Rs. 15,700/-
- Total Subsidy : Rs. 11,800/-
5) Spinning unit
- Unit cost : Rs.5,00,000/-
- Total Subsidy : Rs. 3,75,000/-
The above said all schemes will be implemented after the approval and receipt of funds from CSB and as well as from TamilNadu State Government.

- NABARD- Training on recent sericulture technologies for higher cocoon productivity
