Kodaikanal-1 apple is a selection from Parlin's Beauty. The tree is medium size with a heavy yield of 22t/ha. It is found best adapted to warm winter conditions prevailing in Kodaikanal hills. It is a mid season variety. Fruits are available during July-August. Fruits are medium to big in size, each weighing 170 g, global in shape with crisp flesh. Fully ripened fruits are attractive yellow in color with a crimson drop. The fruits are tasty with a TSS of 13°brix. The tree yields 400 fruits per tree per year.
